Description
Description
Since 1918, the Lamastus Family has being producing coffee in Elida Estate, which today has become one of the global leaders in exceptionally rare and beautiful coffees. Now made up of 3 different estates, Robert Lamastus originally started this farm at around 1700MASL, in the skirts of the Baru Volcano in Boquete, Panama. At that time, the matriarch of the Lamastus family processed and exported what is still today considered as one of the highest quality coffees in the world. Now, four generations later, Elida Estate continues to produce coffees under unique world-ecological conditions: it is shade-grown, bird-friendly, very high elevation, and in a microclimate with low temperatures, all while being surrounded by the Volcan Baru National Park.
This coffee was harvested in the morning pulped followed by hand-washing. The parchment is then dried in a climate-controlled Dark Room Drying (DRD) facility, where humidity and temperature are closely monitored to ensure a slow and even drying process.
We are thrilled and honoured to have this lot on our offer list as we have admired the quality of Elida Estate & the Lamastus families coffee for years. It tastes exactly as you would expect an exceptionally processed Panamanian coffee to, with mandarin, jasmine, & honey all singing through from start to finish.
