Ethiopia Tela & Tuga
Notes of orange blossom, lemon, sparkling lime.
The Tega & Tula farms are located in the forests in the heart of Keffa, the south western part of Ethiopia. Tega, the original farm, was established to plant, produce and deliver high quality coffee to the market in 2000. Since then, the Tula farm has become a part of this burgeoning ecosystem of specialty coffee, now renowned for its classic and exquisite lots.
This coffee has been hand picked and put on drying tables immediately. The Tega farm has its own nursery to plant coffee seedlings and for Tula, our sourcing partner, Trabocca, purchased and installed an ecopulper (Pinhalense) and assisted in arranging pure water supply. The farm currently employees between 50-60 people permanently, with as many as 1000 people coming in to pick during the harvest season.
The Keffa zone, where this coffee is from, is widely considered the birthplace of coffee. The pristine coffee growing region is quite literally legendary for it's quality and we are thrilled to have this lot with us for the first time showcasing a sustainable, traceable, & single farm coffee.
This coffee was sourced in partnership with our friends at Trabocca, based in the Netherlands. Trabocca is one of the premier sourcing partners with established multi faceted relationships based in Ethiopia, and one of the global leaders of sourcing from this region. This coffee is fully traceable, directly through Trabocca's channels.
